after watching the video i have some question in mind - the weight difference between left and right fork? - since it uses only 1 fork spring, te fork spring used would be more heavily rated? - vise versa, the valve shim would be thicker on the other leg? - would a single sided valve shims "worn" out faster?

rookie,u r the suspension tech guy here... it should be some1 else asking these questions? but since u have asked....let me try 2 answer your questions. is the separate fork function concept new? answer - its not! so let me based my thoughts and answer on another front suspension (Marzocchi Magnum forks) which as the same functions as the Showa(S.F.F forks) Marzocchi had this concept in 1993 with the 45mm forks. (the senior local riders here would recall the Huskys and KTM of '95 -'97 being equipped with the same forks but only 50mm forks with the blue adjusters on top) yes, there was a weight difference between the left n right fork but its juz only in grams. no,the spring would not have to be heavier rated than a normal(twin spring) suspension. no,the valve shims do not have to be thicker! it would depends on the valve arrangements and the height/space available in the fork leg no,the the valve shims in a single sided fork will not wear out any faster than a current design fork. here is a diagram of the Marzocchi forks. ![]() and you should know about all this facts coffee on you...
