the new air box is awesome but with all the airflow intakes, dust will will also come in.
a trick i did was 2 place some foam at the air intakes 2 prevent dust/water from coming n dirtying up the air filter. thumbup

another important thing 2 note is dat with the "twin chamber" front suspension..over tightening the fork tube bolts on the triple clamp can cause the forks to bind n not work properly.
use a torque wrench 2 tighten it properly.

cheers

anything riders with mx bikes dat might wanna get is the rim valve cover. dis great product has been found on the Honda's off road line up from the early '80s till present day.

but u can now get the aftermarket item in different colors 2 suit yr bike/rim.

Posted Image

the advantages of this product is dat its allow the valve stem 2 flex unlike the valve stem nut which might cause the valve stem 2 tear from the tube. dis is esp important if u r running low tire pressure 4 off road riding/racing.

the other advantage is dat it helps keep mud n water out (well, not a 100%) but way better than a loosen valve stem nut(which allows the valve stem 2 flex) but also lets in a whole load of water, mud etc in2 the rim. ridebike

if u have use dis product/thing..let's hear yr feed back? cheers

have started testing on the different carb settings and carbs.

the kehin pwm carb has awesome top end than the stock pwk carb.

the stock carb has better low end response than the pwm carb.

both carbs r 38mm. there is no need 4 mod the airbox/manifolds.

will post the final result up when i m done testing.

cheers

ya, i'm pretty happy over the past weekend.

The side board sticker credit goes to Harold, thanks alot!
Didn't expect it to be up so fast. :)

the table top was scary, the 450 shld have no problem clearing it
just this 150 just need abit more precise throttle and clutch control
with such short runway to take off, i just need more speed and power.

Harold shld know wat happen. Hahaa.

It is always gd to come back to be a farmer when not riding.
It is always peaceful and serene when i become a gardener.

The helmet still need abit more time to break in.

did a quick test of the PWM carb today!

thanks to Zero for being the test rider.... thumbup

it still requires a bit more fine tuning but the response today is far better than the prev test session a couple of weeks back.

throttle response has improved after changing to a # 42 pilot jet.
will start testing out some different kehin needles 4 the next session which most likely will be at another testing ground in the west!

cheers

drop the pilot jet to a #40. static testing was ok. let's see how it runs under load dis sunday. maybe i can bummed off rookie's "super duper" carb needle after he's done with it! smirk

i do expect another drop in the main jet size dis sunday.

will post the out come on monday!

cheers

thank zero 4 being my test rider thumbup

top end power n mid range is all settled.

when up 1 size on the pilot jet # 45 ....low end power is not there.

will try a # 40 dis week n see wat its like.

next carb will be the stock p.w.k carb 2 set up b4 a direct back 2 back comparison wit the p.w.m carb.

a change of carb needle...and its back to the drawing board.

pilot jet #42 still works best buts its pales in comparison to the mid range n top end power of the PWM carb,

main jet went back up to #185... (not enough time 2 test more cos of the coming rains)
power wise is not as easy to ride as the stock carb.

but given a long, fast track..this mod will than shine! thumbup

did the final test for the stock 38 mm P.W.K dat come stock on the 150sx.

the overall power delivery is much smoother than the P.W.M after the setting up the power valve.

this set up is great for smaller, tight tracks or in muddy conditions.

even in the heavy rains n water logged conditions there was ample mid range power to lift the bike wheel up.

straight line acceleration was ok compared to the P.W.M

have done further improvements to improve the gear shifting of the ktm. gone is the notchy shifting dat is normally associated with the bike. now shifting is buttery smooth - juz as smooth as the Japanese bikes! thumbup
